Ocean Commons and Ecotourism in Asia: Mutual Learnings from Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam is a workshop held by Toyota Foundation on October 31, gathering over 40 participants and various experts to discuss environmental issues and threats to the oceans. After an opening remark from researcher Narumi Yoshikawa, the event hosted seminars from the Japanese Iri-Omote Island Ecotourism Association, Tango Experience Co, the Vietnamese Kanso Technos Company and Phú Quốc Island. Afterwards, the participants were engaged in a group work sessions focusing on the 5W1H problem-solving mechanism. The workshop ended with the final presentations from each group followed by the closing ceremony. This event has raised awareness about our ocean commons and its problems, as well as demonstrate solution through ecotourism and many others.
