Student Services in Medical

CU Health Service Center

Chulalongkorn University Has always understood the importance of staff and student heath. In 1959, the University’s first Heath Unit was founded under the supervision of the Student Relations Office. In 2007, University President Professor Khunying Suchada Kiranandana, realizing the need to improve and expand health care facilities in order to better cope with the demand for better and more efficient service, proposed that the heatlh unit be upgraded to a health center.
The proposal was approved by the Chulalongkorn University Council, at its 686th meeting on July 26, 2007, and on September 4th , 2007, the University Health Service Center was established and placed under the supervision of the Office of the University.
On December 28, 2007, Chulalongkorn University Health Service Center joined the list of government health facilities after the Comptroller General’s Department, authorized by the Finance Ministry, legitimized the change under the Medical Benefit Scheme Royal Decree B.E. 2523 and subsequent amendments. This new status enables eligible CUHC patients to be reimbursed for their medical expense.

This academic year has been challenging due to the extended COVID-19 pandemic, where adaptability to live and study remains a priority. Under these constraints, Chulalongkorn University has developed and invested in online learning systems, especially the LMS (Learning Management System), to ensure an efficient virtual learning environment for both students and teachers.

In addition, Chulalongkorn University has collaborated with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and the Council of University Presidents of Thailand to set up relief measures to provide additional assistance to students by providing COVID-19 insurance. Most importantly, Covid-19 health insurance benefits that range from vaccination to the systematic treatment process have been set to aid students in the case of infection.
